I work virtually through phone consults with adult US English speaking patients. We dig deep to find and resolve stressors blocking the path to health, including: allergies, blood sugar issues, skin issues (eczema, acne, psoriasis, etc.), digestive discomfort (IBS, constipation, diarrhea, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth SIBO, bloating, gas), food sensitivities (gluten, dairy, etc.), unbalanced hormones (PMS, low libido), autoimmunity, inflammation, methylation, nutrient deficiencies, hidden infections, and environmental toxins (heavy metals, pesticides, etc.). I have over 17 years of clinical experience with interests in functional medicine and holistic health for over 12 years. Insurance does NOT cover the time and effort required to investigate challenging chronic health concerns but FSA/HSA benefits may be used. Most have seen 5 or more practitioners before consulting with Dr. Mehta Schedule a free phone consult today.

My Story

I have a strong compassion and empathy for those on this journey as I’ve witnessed some transformative changes in colleagues, family, friends, and patients through the coaching I’ve provided while learning also. Feeling Inspired, grateful and blessed by this opportunity to serve others- I chose the journey of becoming a functional medicine practitioner.

My practice was born out of the critical need of functional medicine with an ancestral perspective in the United States and watching too many loved ones fall ill to chronic disease, feeling worse, and becoming sicker in the the traditional health care (sick care) model without addressing root causes and lifestyle changes.

Both my husband and I personally experienced great improvement in quality of life combining functional medicine and Paleo/Primal/Ancestral principles to improve food sensitivities, allergies, acne, bloating, eczema, digestion, dental health, nutrient deficiencies, and sleep while improving energy and productivity. We spent over $12000 at 2 visits at world-famous medical clinics without any improvement and unable to offer referrals. However, spending just $4000 over 2 years in functional medicine gave us much more health improvement and addressed the root causes.

After spending over 6 years learning and training from world-famous functional medicine practitioners such as Dr. Mark Hyman, Chris Kresser, Dr. Ben Lynch, Dr. David Perlmutter, Dr. Terry Wahls, and many others and applying this knowledge – I saw how great the potential to help many others.

I was born in India but raised in Texas.  I now reside in the Greater Philadelphia area with my family including 2 very dog-like cats and also work at a top Philadelphia area optometry practice. I formerly practiced for 9 years in the Boston area at one of the top optometry practices. I enjoy gluten-free cooking, hiking, ancient history, travel, and yoga. I served as Board Trustee of the Archaeological Institute of America nonprofit and was organizer of the one of the largest Paleo Meetup groups: Living Paleo in Boston.

Vision: To empower patients to go Beyond Wellness using both ancient wisdom and the cutting edge science of functional medicine. To create a safe setting for patients to discuss their most pressing health concerns and work as a team to dig deeper and find hidden and clear stressors blocking their path to optimum health. These hidden stressors may include dysfunctional digestion, food sensitivities, unbalanced hormones, environmental toxins, dysfunctional immunity, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, and hidden infections.

Mission: To teach (Latin docere related to the word “doctor”) our patients how to take responsibility for their health and to guide them in their journey to wellness using various lifestyle tools and strategies.
